1. Service and eligibility
PV8 is a business decision-support workspace for operating and prospective photovoltaic assets. It provides deterministic screening modules, evidence workflows, reports, engineering exports, collaboration and optional AI-assisted features. You must be authorised to act for the organisation and assets you place in the service.
2. Accounts, trials and subscriptions
Self-service registration creates an active, private one-week trial immediately. The trial includes the Basic plan’s available exports. Plan limits apply to completed assets; unfinished creation drafts and PV8’s representative demonstration asset do not count. Paid entitlements are activated through PV8’s billing process, and taxes may apply.
PV8 Concierge is the optional AI-assist layer and is not included automatically with a module subscription. Concierge agents propose with citations and never change an asset, send a message or make a commitment without your confirmation; PV8's deterministic engines perform all calculation. Any separately priced AI-assisted service follows its own displayed price and confirmation.
3. Your data and owner control
You retain rights in asset records, files, outputs, comments and evidence you or your reviewers provide (“Owner Data”). You grant PV8 the limited rights needed to host, secure, process and present Owner Data for your workspace and to provide support you request.
You are responsible for having the right to upload materials and for reviewing extracted facts and assumptions before relying on an output.
4. Demonstration assumptions
PV8 may offer a representative demo so a first-time user can reach an illustrative output. Demo records and their reports are visibly marked. They are not facts about your asset, owner evidence or a substitute for completing your asset profile.
4a. AI agents and AI-assisted processing
PV8 offers optional AI agents (for example evidence extraction from your documents, opportunity prioritisation, evidence-request drafting, counterparty briefs, design trade-off narration, tender drafting, bid normalisation, portfolio monitoring and decision papers). AI agents operate on a propose-and-confirm basis: their outputs are proposals with citations, they never change an asset record, send a message or make a commitment by themselves, and all calculation remains with PV8's deterministic engines. You are responsible for reviewing an agent's proposals before confirming them, and confirmed values are recorded as owner-approved evidence like any manual entry.
When you invoke an AI agent, the data needed for that task — which may include the content of documents you upload to that action — is transmitted to PV8's AI model provider (currently Anthropic) for processing under PV8's provider agreement. The provider processes this data to deliver the response and, under the applicable API terms, does not use it to train models. Do not submit material to an AI action that your organisation's policies or your agreements with third parties do not permit you to share with a processor. AI features are identified as such in the interface, and each invocation is your instruction to process that data for that task.
5. Sharing, experts and counterparty requests
Read-only links, collaborative-run links and expert access default to seven days unless the asset owner chooses another duration while sharing. The owner controls scope and can revoke access. Anyone with an unexpired link may view the owner-approved frozen report or completed collaborative run without an account, so share it only with intended recipients. A recipient must verify control of an e-mail address before changing assumptions, recalculating or commenting. This purpose-limited verification does not create an account and does not provide access to the owner’s Asset Profile or other modules. An account is required to retain shared work in a workspace, expand it into other modules or originate a new asset.
Experts may comment and submit evidence within their permitted scope; the owner decides whether proposed evidence or changes are accepted. An owner may send a purpose-limited request for information to a counterparty. The secure response link expires after seven days by default. A recipient may submit information only when authorised to do so. Submitted material remains pending in the owner’s workspace and does not change an asset or output unless the owner accepts it.
6. Outputs and professional judgment
PV8 outputs are screening and decision-support materials. Their maturity depends on the evidence shown in the output. They do not replace site surveys, detailed engineering, grid offers, permits, legal advice, tax advice, investment advice or approvals by competent professionals and authorities. You remain responsible for decisions and external submissions.
When the owner accepts a submitted profile, evidence item or proposed assumption for recalculation, PV8 records a new run and its source. Existing frozen Saved outputs and share-link snapshots are not overwritten; a review based on a Saved output can create a new derived version while retaining the original.
7. Public and third-party data
PV8 can display public, licensed and third-party information, including grid, market, map and registry context. Source availability, licences and update cycles are outside PV8’s control. PV8 identifies material sources and limitations where they affect an output.
8. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, bypass access controls, probe for other customers’ information, upload unlawful or malicious material, scrape protected interfaces, resell access without agreement, or use public plant information to imply owner consent or endorsement. PV8 may suspend access needed to protect customers, the service or the law.
9. Intellectual property
PV8 and its licensors own the platform, software, methods, branding and general templates. Subject to payment and these terms, you may use and share your generated outputs for your organisation’s business purposes. Third-party materials remain subject to their applicable terms.
10. Availability and changes
PV8 aims to provide a reliable service and may maintain, improve or replace features. Material subscription changes will be communicated through the service or the account contact. Beta or preview features will be identified where appropriate.
11. Fees, cancellation and termination
Subscription fees and billing periods are shown in the selected plan or order form. You may cancel renewal through the available billing process. On termination, access ends subject to applicable law and any agreed export period. PV8 may terminate for material breach after reasonable notice and an opportunity to cure where appropriate.
12. Warranties and liability
PV8 will provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Each party’s aggregate liability under the service is limited to fees paid or payable for the affected service during the previous twelve months, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, wilful misconduct or breach of confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
13. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other’s confidential information and use it only to perform the agreement. Permitted disclosures include personnel and providers who need the information and are bound to protect it, or disclosure required by law.
14. Governing terms
The provider identity, governing law and dispute forum stated in your checkout, invoice or order form apply. If an enterprise agreement exists, it controls. These terms do not remove mandatory rights that apply by law.
